Philipp
Philipp is a strategy executor by passion. As CFO of Groupon Central Europe, he scaled the company to 1,300+ employees and supported the NASDAQ IPO. His experience with the organizational challenges of ambitious growth strategies led to his PhD and multiple publications on strategy execution in high-growth environments.
He lectures at TU Munich and UnternehmerTUM. Philipp is an expert in growth strategy, business model innovation, organizational design, OKRs, and performance management systems.

Stefan has founded and scaled multiple digital companies. Before scaleon, he was COO of global ad-tech company Applift (10+ offices, 250+ employees), CEO and co-founder of mobile marketing firm appiris, and CFO of madvertise. He also spent several years at top management consultancy Altman Solon.

Who do you typically work with?
We work with leaders and investors building exceptional digital companies. Our clients are typically CEOs, CFOs, Heads of Growth at digital companies or CDOs and transformation leads at corporate digital ventures, and investment managers or operating partners at PE/VC funds. What they have in common: they don't settle for average and they know that growth alone isn't enough.
At what stage of growth do companies usually engage scaleon?
Most clients come to us when growth is no longer automatic when scaling from €100M to €200m requires more than a good product, when unit economics need to be optimized, or when an exit or fundraise is 12–24 months away. We also work with PE funds that need standardized value creation across entire portfolios. The common thread: there's a critical decision or inflection point ahead.
How is scaleon different from traditional strategy consulting firms?
We are hands-on, entrepreneurial, and numbers and not slide-driven. We've founded and managed companies ourselves, so we work at eye-level with management teams and understand what it actually takes to scale. We don't get stuck in analysis-paralysis. Do you only develop strategy, or do you also support execution?
Both. And the connection between the two is exactly where we add the most value. We develop growth strategies and business models, but we also design the operating models, KPI frameworks, OKR systems, and performance management structures that make execution actually work. Strategy without execution is just a hypothesis. We make sure it becomes a result.
Can you support companies preparing for fundraising or an exit?
Yes. This is one of our core areas. We support both buy-side and sell-side processes: exit readiness assessments, investment thesis validation, commercial due diligence, and preparation of investor-ready narratives. We help management teams understand what investors will scrutinize and make sure the answers are compelling before the first conversation happens.
